Sabum Virginia Dionisi, Toby Fox and Walter Clayton have been awarded by the Brussels town hall at the traditional “Reception des Champions”, for their performances during 2010:
-Sabum Virginia: Vice European Champion in tul IV-VI degree, double Belgian champion (tul and power breaking),
-Toby: double Belgian champion (tul and sparring senior category), and
-Walter: Belgian champion (sparring junior category).
Our athletes received a medal and some gifts from the hands of the “Echevin des Sports” of Brussels, Bertin Mampacka, at the Hall of Fame of the Stadium Roi Baudouin.
This year the event was particularly very well organized. The venue was specially decorated for the occasion. The event started with a capoeira demonstration that attracted the attention of the public. During the medal award ceremony 94 athletes from different disciplines that obtained the title of Belgian champions were awarded.
Unfortunately, Sabum Virginia and Walter were absent, so Bo Sabum Gonzalo and Vladimir received the medal on their behalf. After the ceremony there was an outstanding cocktail for the athletes.
We thank the Brussels town hall and Mr. Mampacka for the initiative and we congratulate our champions for their great job!
